Luc Mongeau

President

Luc joined Weston Foods in 2017 as President of the company. His mandate is to drive Weston Foods to become North America’s premier bakery. 

Luc is an accomplished consumer goods executive in the food, chocolate and petcare categories, with wide-ranging branding, product development, operations and management experience. Before joining Weston Foods, Luc spent 15 years at Mars Inc., where his roles included setting the global strategic and marketing direction for some of Mars’s leading brands. He became President for the Canadian business and then the multi-billion-dollar North American petcare business. 

Luc holds an MBA from Ivey Business School at Western University and a BSc from Université de Sherbrooke. He attended the Advanced Business Program at the Harvard Business School in 2012.
Luc has also worked as a board member and executive advisor for several top firms in consumer goods and the non-profit space. He has a passion for children’s charities. 

Luc resides in Toronto with his partner, two children and dogs Precious and Bo. He is known to have a very serious sweet tooth across the company and loves to devour baked goods!

Tina Murrin
Tina Murrin
Chief Financial Officer

Tina joined Weston Foods in 2017 as Chief Financial Officer. She has overall accountability for Finance, IT, and the ERP program for Weston Foods.

Tina is a seasoned finance executive building her career in the food industry for more than 25 years. She has broad experience working across the manufacturing and retail industries and has led numerous large-scale transformation programs. Prior to joining Weston Foods, she worked 10 years at Heinz Canada, and has spent the majority of her career in the George Weston group with 15 years working at Loblaw Companies, and two years at Weston Foods.

Tina is a graduate from the University of Waterloo and holds a Fellow in Governance from the Canadian Board Diversity Council. She grew up in London, Ontario and currently resides in Toronto. Tina loves travel and food, and boasts of having tasted every donut on the market!

Roy Benin
Roy Benin
President, Category Strategy & Innovation

Roy joined Weston Foods in 2015 as President of ACE bakery and his role was expanded to include President of Maplehurst in January 2017. In 2018, he was appointed to President, Category Strategy & Activation for Weston Foods. In addition to leading our Category team, Roy leads the selling efforts of our Contract and US Girl Scout businesses. 

Roy has built a career in consumer goods in the food, beverage and petcare categories in both Canada and the U.S. He had a longstanding career with Mars Inc. where he served as General Manager for Mars Canada, followed by Chief Marketing Officer, U.S., and then Global VP, Global Customer Leadership. In 2014, while at Mars, Roy was named one of the world’s top 50 CMOs by Forbes. Prior to his career with Mars, he honed his extensive marketing and sales skills at Second Cup, Campbell Soup Company and PepsiCo. 

Roy holds an Honours in Business Administration (Marketing) from Ivey Business School at Western University and attended Harvard Business School Executive Education in 2013. Most recently served as a board member for Junior Achievement Canada. 

Roy is an avid runner and has successfully completed 19 marathons. He has lived across North America including the West Coast and New Jersey. He currently resides in Toronto with his family. His favorite Weston Foods product is the ACE® Baguette, and he loves to eat it with Artisanal cheeses.

Linda Gillespie
Linda Gillespie
SVP, Human Resources

Linda joined Weston Foods in 2014 as SVP, Human Resources. She leads the Human Resources function including corporate communications and also serves as Executive Sponsor of Business Transformation. 

Linda began her corporate career at Nortel, where she worked in marketing business development for 11 years. Linda then transitioned into human resources leadership at Nortel, entering a field she has since excelled in and built her career. Following Nortel brought her talents, leadership skills and strengths driving transformational change to Dupont as Canada HR Lead and later Global Lead of HR at Dupont Pioneer. 

Linda received her BComm, from Queen’s University, where she studied International Business, Marketing and Organizational Behaviour.  She has a passion for exploring culture and has lived and worked in Asia, Europe and the United States.

She lives in Toronto with her husband, daughter and cats Boom and Echo. Her family knows that Linda will drive any distance to pick up Weston Foods baked goods when entertaining – luckily in Toronto that is never too far!

Anthony Booth

Chief Customer Officer

Anthony joined Weston Foods in 2017 as Chief Customer Officer. He leads the North American Sales organization and serves our retail and foodservice customers. 

Anthony started his career in Sales at Procter & Gamble in the early 1990s. He spent the next eight years with P&G, then moved to Mars Inc. in 2000 to lead Mars’s transformation of their go-to-market sales model. Anthony spent 11 years at Mars, eventually becoming General Manager of the Food Product Business Unit.

In 2011 Anthony left Mars to embrace an entrepreneurial opportunity at telecom start-up Mobilicity as the company’s Chief Customer Officer. There, he was responsible for all commercial aspects of what became Canada’s fastest-growing wireless carrier. Anthony became President of Mobilicity in 2013, and was instrumental in the successful sale of the business to Canada’s largest telecom operator in 2015. 

In 2016, Anthony was appointed President of Thane Direct, one of the largest infomercial companies globally, operating in more than 100 countries around the world. 

Anthony is a graduate of the University of Toronto, and the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors. He resides in Toronto, loves to travel and is an avid golfer. One of Anthony's favourite baked goods is the Weston Apple Fritter – he has been known to indulge in samples every chance he gets!
 

Russ Montgomery

SVP, Integrated Supply Chain

Russ joined Weston Foods in 2020 as SVP, Integrated Supply Chain. He leads the ISC function comprised of the manufacturing, engineering, safety, as well as the planning and logistics teams.

Russ is a seasoned senior executive with more than 25 years of experience leading large, complex manufacturing and supply chain organizations. He joins Weston Foods from Henkel where he served as SVP of Operations since 2016. Prior to Henkel, Russ spent 22 years with Ashland Inc. in progressively senior leadership roles including serving as Vice President of Global Operations.

Russ has an MBA from Franklin University and a BSc in chemical engineering from Pennsylvania State. He’s excited to be part of Weston Foods for many reasons, one of them being that he has an excuse to indulge in baked goods!

Russ divides his time between Toronto and Columbus Ohio where he lives with his wife and three children.

Arlene Karan
Arlene Karan
Vice President – Research, Development and Quality

Arlene joined Weston Foods in 2018 as Vice President, Research & Development. In 2019, she was appointed to Vice President, Research & Development and Quality bringing together the R&D and Quality functions under her leadership.

Arlene is a chemical engineer with more than 20 years of experience within food manufacturing. Her expertise lies in research & development, consumer-led product innovation and manufacturing operations across many grocery categories, including simple meals, snacking, soup, baby food and beverage. She has now proudly added the bakery category to her portfolio. She has a passion for marrying consumer insights with food trends to deliver new category innovation.

Prior to Weston Foods, Arlene spent 17 years with the Campbell Soup Company where she held several R&D and supply chain roles in Canada and the U.S. Most recently, she held the role of Vice President R&D as a key member of the Canadian Senior Leadership Team and the Global R&D Team.

Arlene earned her Master’s of Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto. As an engineer, she loves how bakery marries the art and science of food and has a weakness for freshly baked bread. She resides in Toronto with her family.
